Foreign Subsidies Regulation: Commission Conducts Unannounced Inspections in Security Equipment Sector

The European Commission has today carried out unannounced inspections at the facilities of a prominent company operating within the security equipment sector across the European Union.

The inspections, conducted in collaboration with national competition authorities from the relevant Member States, are based on indications that the inspected company may be receiving foreign subsidies that could distort market dynamics, as outlined in the Foreign Subsidies Regulation.

Should the Commission find sufficient evidence indicating the presence of distortive foreign subsidies, it will proceed with an in-depth investigation into the matter.
