TCTF: European Commission Adopts Prolongation of TCTF to further support agriculture and fisheries sectors

With the TCTF rules concerning agriculture set to expire in June 2024, the European Commission today announced the adoption of an amendment to the State Aid Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF), extending specific provisions by six months. This extension is tailored to address ongoing market disruptions, particularly in the agriculture, fisheries  and aquaculture sectors, acknowledging the persistent challenges faced by these vital industries.

In particular, the Commission has decided to prolong section 2.1 of the TCTF. This extension allows Member States to continue providing limited aid to companies in these sectors until 31st December 2024, affording them more time to implement necessary support measures. The amendment maintains the existing aid ceilings, enabling Member States to offer up to EUR 280,000 for the agricultural sector and up to EUR 335,000 for fisheries and aquaculture.

While this extension addresses immediate needs, the Commission also announced plans for a review of the Agricultural de minimis Regulation.
